Jobst Technologies GmbH develops and produces biosensors designed to measure key parameters of cell metabolism like glucose, lactate, glutamine, and glutamate. Our customers apply our sensors in a variety of critical medical and bioprocessing applications.

Our Impact

Real-world applications of our sensors include patient-specific metabolic monitors, blood gas analyzers serving hospitals in 90+ countries, organ-preservation and ‑transportation, analysis in bioprocessing from process development to ultra-high volume production equipment, organ-on-chip miniaturized measurement solutions, cell and gene therapy and other advanced therapies manufacturing and production equipment.
Past and current examples of impactful multi-country EU research collaborations include wearables to monitor metabolic conditions of first responders, dedicated organ-on-chip measurement solutions to elevate the field into broad acceptance and application, wafer-scale efficient microfluidic interfaces for CMOS sensors integrating biological components and silicone microfabrication, and automated, efficient and accurate sensor systems for process analytical technology in cell and gene therapy production.

History

Founded in 2002 as spin off from the chair of sensors at Freiburg Institute of Micro Systems Technology — IMTEK, iST Jobst started working as a campus based company.
Since then we have been a partner and supplier to our customers delivering highest performing biosensors as components for medical devices, bioprocessing equipment and many more applications.
